Comedy For The Animals presents Myq Kaplan

Prolific standup comic (and vegan) Myq Kaplan is set to headline the inaugural comedy show benefiting Santa Fe aging animal-focused Kindred Spirits Animal Sanctuary, on November 28th at Dynasty Typewriter in Los Angeles.

Myq Kaplan is a comedian named Mike Kaplan.

He has been seen on the Tonight Show, Conan, The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Seth Meyers, in his own half-hour Comedy Central Presents special, and in his own one-hour special on Amazon, Small, Dork, and Handsome.  He has been a finalist on Last Comic Standing and has appeared on America’s Got Talent.

His album “Vegan Mind Meld” was one of iTunes’ top 10 comedy albums of the year, and his newest album “A.K.A.” debuted at #1. The New York Times called it “invigoratingly funny” and included it among its five “coronavirus best new comedy specials” … “to remind you of the old normal.”

Kindred Spirits Animal Sanctuary (KSAS) is dedicated to providing end-of-life care and hospice for older, unwanted dogs, horses, and poultry in a peaceful and serene sanctuary setting, and advocating for the compassionate, dignified treatment of all living beings as they move through the aging process.

Comedy For The Animals producers Scott Seven (they/them) and Michael Raley (he/him) want the event series to be comedy first.  “We want to do our comedy job and raise a little money for animal rights and animal welfare groups, so they can do their jobs,” says Seven.  “Michael isn’t even vegan, so non-vegans, vegetarians and vegans alike should all come to the show!”

The event will be co-hosted by the two producers and will also feature vegan comedians Ash T and April Walterscheid.
